Simulating movement by zooming in/out on the subject during exposure. The effect produces radial lines from the centre; how much blur depends on how much the focal length changes during exposure.
These images were shot on a tripod.

Inspired by perhaps the greatest shot from Malaysia '11. Still a long way off that.
